BMI
belongs to the Department of Computer and System Science (Faculty of
Engineering) of the University of Pavia. Established in 1982, it is a
leading centre for education, research and IT innovative solutions in
healthcare area. Nowadays about 30 people are working at BMI, focusing
their research on: Bioinformatics, Clinical Data Mining, Models of
Biological Systems, Biomedical Knowledge Management, Decision Support
Systems and Telemedicine. BMI staff has a long experience in
a
wide range of engineering and biomedical informatics technologies:
Software Engineering, Web-based IT decision support, and Artificial
Intelligence. During the last ten years, BMI has participated in
several European projects funded by EU Research Programmes (T-IDDM,
Homey, MyHeart) and by the Italian Research Ministry.
